CARNAGE has been a quick side project for me, an idea that had been sitting in a drawer for about ten years, and also an experiment: it is my first game with an AI, Claude, helping me with the code, and I am still amazed at how it turned out. It takes after Spy Hunter, Road Fighter, Mad Max, 80s board games like Thunder Road and Car Wars, and good old slot cars. You move square by square across three lanes, and the higher up you go, the faster you drive: up to x4 score and up to 359 km/h of bad decisions. A rammer, a gunner, a kamikaze biker and a missile car glued to your bumper are all after you, and the road fights back too, with fences, barrels, chicanes and forks with a prize down one side. Shove them into each other and chain it all together. It is made for quick runs, the one-more-go kind, perfect for events or for passing the pad around with friends. Road sections and obstacles are generated procedurally, so no two runs are ever the same. 31 situations unlock as you go, day turns to night, and your record is painted on the tarmac. It's coming soon to itch.io. Follow it there and you'll know the moment it's out.
